The Cove & McIntyre Hope and Healing Scholarship
Thank you to all our 2024 high school graduates who applied for The Cove & McIntyre Hope and Healing Scholarship. Please note, the 2024 funds have been awarded. We will be releasing the 2025 application in the next year and look forward to offering another scholarship opportunity. Read on to learn more about the scholarship and eligibility in the meantime, and stay tuned for a 2025 application in the beginning of the year.
At The Cove, we aim to offer grieving children and teens hope and healing through our free programs. We wish that every grieving person feels supported and has the opportunity to move through life with hope. We are able to award 1 scholarship per year in the amount of $5,000. Read on for eligibility requirements.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

High school senior, class of 2025 graduate

Has experienced the death of a parent, guardian or sibling

Accepted into any higher education program such as, but not limited to a 2 or 4 year accredited college or university, culinary school, or trade school, located in the United States, including DC and Puerto Rico

Must be a permanent resident of the state of CT
Instructions for Completing the Scholarship Application
Below were the scholarship application instructions. If you applied and think you missed one of these steps, please reach out to Allison at allison@covect.org.

Copy of your most recent transcript of grades from current or last school attended. An official transcript from the school is required by the April 1, 2025 application deadline.

Two original letters of recommendation from individuals who are not related to you, the applicant.

Please provide Academic/Career Goals, not to exceed 2400 characters.

Please answer the essay question, not to exceed 2600 characters, How has the death of your loved one impacted you and how you have overcome adversity?

Provide proof of citizenship.

Provide copy of driver’s license or other State-Issued ID (copies of both front and back).

Provide a letter of acceptance into your chosen program.
